Greek polydefinites revisited

چکیده
Abstract This article focuses on the interpretation of adjectives that appear in Greek polydefinite DP s. It provides empirical support to established position restrictive modifiers are preferred environments (Kolliakou 1995). At same time, it shows non-restrictively modified polydefinites not excluded by grammar (Manolessou 2000). To reconcile facts, a novel syntactic analysis polydefiniteness as involving modification either or non-restrictive reduced relative clauses is formulated. We extend Alexopoulou’s (2006) resumption full relatives and defend what looks like preadjectival definite resumptive clitic pronoun values unvalued definiteness feature null complementizer. further that, while prenominal interpreted d-linked, dependent expression referentially bound anaphora.

Phrase accents revisited: comparative evidence from standard and cypriot greek
Phrase accents, one of the three tonal categories assumed by much recent research on intonation, are expected to associate with a prosodic boundary (e.g. the end of the utterance) but not to phonetically align with a specific tone-bearing unit (TBU), such as a stressed syllable. This paper presents experimental evidence on the intonation of Cypriot Greek polar questions suggesting that phrase a...
متن کاملQUICKSELECT Revisited
We give an overview of the running time analysis of the random divide-and-conquer algorithm FIND or QUICKSELECT. The results concern moments, distribution of FIND’s running time, the limiting distribution, a stochastic bound and the key: a stochastic fixed point equation.

Pendred's syndrome is defined as a triad of congenital perceptive hearing loss, goiter, and abnormal perchlorate test. Three brothers with Pendred's syndrome [P.S.] are reported. The oldest brother has hearing loss (he has been deaf and mute since childhood) and has a large goiter. A thyroid scan revealed euthyroid multinodular goiter and a perchlorate test was performed, and reported abno...
